Woodwind Treasures - Westwood Wind Quintet





The Westwood Wind Quintet (of Los Angeles) was founded in 1959 and performed actively for close to 40 years. This CD is made from recordings in 1971 and 1981.

  2. Thanks for this Anchusa, although by the cover I was expecting more of a "rural" or "bucolic" feel and it was a bit more "urban" than that ;) So maybe I'll try something else for my country voyage... :)

  3. I was afraid you would find a certain mismatch there! But then not a lot of "serious" music composed in the second half of last century has much of a rural or bucolic feel to it.
    The next post will offer more in that vein, I think.

  4. Yes, you've got to admit that that cover is pretty damned misleading! :-) Unless, of course, there's a gold mining industrial wasteland at that rainbow's end... Okay, better luck next time for me ;-)
